A New Standard for Live Music
Based on our experience in inclusion and accessibility for concerts, we put several meaningful measures in place: a vibration-stage that made music physically perceptible for people with hearing impairments, live interpretation in Swiss German Sign Language, cultural support guides to help visitors navigate the venue as well as relaxed performance elements and quiet spaces for those needing a sensory break. Information was provided in easy-to-read language and clear wayfinding signage aided orientation. Free entry was offered for accompanying support persons, and a flower lanyard was available for guests with invisible disabilities to signal they might need extra time or space.
This inclusive approach was a first-of-its-kind for bandXost — a pilot project aimed at making music more accessible to everyone and setting a new standard for inclusive live music in Switzerland.
